Material Handler

The Material Handler safely and efficiently supports warehouse and production operations by manually handling materials, loading and unloading products, and ensuring accurate inventory control. This role plays a key part in keeping assembly lines supplied, maintaining organized storage areas, and supporting shipping and receiving activities through the use of RF scanners and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities
  • Manually perform material handling duties to support warehouse and production operations.
  • Load raw materials and finished products in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Deliver materials to assembly lines to ensure continuous production flow.
  • Perform regular cycle counting to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Use RF scanners to track, locate, and verify materials and products.
  • Research and resolve inventory errors to maintain data accuracy.
  • Pick and pack orders according to established procedures and standards.
  • Restock packing areas to ensure materials and supplies are readily available.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards by keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Load and unload containers at the dock to support shipping and receiving activities.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required protective equipment at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support daily operational goals.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to manually handle materials, including loading and unloading products.
  • Experience with inventory processes such as cycle counting.
  • Proficiency using RF scanners or barcode scanning systems.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office.
  • Attention to detail when researching and resolving inventory errors.
  • Ability to perform picking, packing, and restocking tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Capability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving activities is beneficial.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment is an advantage.

Environment

This role operates in a climate-controlled facility that supports warehouse and production activities. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering a consistent daytime shift. The work involves regular movement around the warehouse, loading and unloading dock containers, and working in packing and inventory areas. Team members use RF scanners, barcode systems, and basic computer applications, with SAP used as an additional system in some areas.

Safety is a priority, and employees must wear steel-toe footwear and safety glasses while on the floor and follow all established safety procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Summerville, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
