Position OverviewThe Operations Technology Trainer is a hands‑on, floor‑based position responsible for training, coaching, and supporting warehouse and operations employees on the systems, technology, equipment, and tools used throughout daily operations.
Unlike a traditional desk‑based training position, this role spends the majority of the workday on the warehouse floor working directly with forklift operators, order picker operators, reach truck operators, cherry picker operators, and other warehouse personnel. The Trainer ensures employees understand and consistently follow proper system workflows and processes.
This position works closely with IT, Operations, and Warehouse Leadership to improve system utilization, reduce errors, accelerate new‑hire onboarding, and promote consistent processes across shifts and locations.
Key Responsibilities:- Train new and existing warehouse staff on WMS workflows (receiving, put‑away, picking, packing, cycle counts, replenishment).
- Train staff on Net Suite functions relevant to their role (item lookups, inventory transactions, statuses).
- Train staff on other IT systems, tools, and devices used across the operation, including any new systems rolled out.
- Ride along and follow up with forklift, cherry picker, order picker, and reach truck operators to confirm correct system use.
- Spot recurring user errors on the floor, coach in real time, document and report patterns back to IT & DC leadership.
- Build and maintain training materials such as quick reference cards, one‑page guides, and short how‑to videos.
- Support go‑lives for new systems and features; train ahead of launch and support staff on the floor during rollout.
- Answer day‑to‑day system questions from floor staff.
- Track training completion by employee and flag gaps to supervisors.
- Document process failures and system incidents when they occur — what happened, when, who was affected, likely root cause, and steps taken — and report to IT and Operations leadership so the issue can be corrected and prevented.
- Participate in testing, deployments, and change management for system updates.
- Support warehouse and operational process improvements through better and more consistent system use.
