• Non-Teaching Applicants must:
• Complete WVSSAC Training and Certification Program Estimated Cost: $250.00
• Apply for position(s) annually
• Submit to; (upon initial assignment)
• Criminal Background Check Estimated Cost: $47.25
• Substance Screening Test
• Be eligible and apply for certification as Coach through the WV Department of Education Estimated Cost: $35.00
• Keep certification valid and current Estimated Annual Cost: $35.00
• Attend Kanawha County Schools' Orientation

New TEACHERS that have been hired after July 1, 2012 who apply to coach on the secondary level (grades 6-12) must have completed the three hour training session provided by Kanawha County Schools and completed the Online Concussion Awareness Course through the KCS Staff Development Site. The training courses will be taught throughout the year. Cost of the course will be $15.00.

This requirement will allow new teachers hired after July 1, 2012 by Kanawha County Schools to be able to coach on the first day of practice of each specified sport identified.
