Job Description /Standards

• Position Type:
  Career and Technical Education/ Education and Training

• Meet minimum standards for certification as set forth by the West Virginia State Board of Education Minimum Standards for licensure of West Virginia School Personnel, specifically the following from the CTE Testing & Endorsement Manual.
• 7317 – Early Childhood Education – Early Childhood Education and Care (NOCTI).
  OR Professional Teaching Certification with a 3600, 3601, 3602, 3603, or 3605 endorsement.
• 7814 – Grow Your Own (GYO) – Professional Teaching Certificate AND 5 years of experience OR master's in education or education-related field.

2. Ability to communicate effectively with industry, students, school personnel, and parents.

3. Educational philosophy compatible with Roane-Jackson Technical Center Administrative Council.

4. Ability to work cooperatively with others, including industry, parents, and community members.

5. High Academic achievement in college education program or industry certification program.

6. Participate as a sponsor for the student organization Educators Rising.

7. Develop and foster relationships for the program with the WVDE, local business and industry, local county boards of education and higher education institutions in the region.

8. Participate in programmatic and school-wide accreditation initiatives.

9. Recommended by the Technical Center Director and Faculty Senate representative(s).

10. Successfully complete a criminal background check.

11. Demonstrates ease with using instructional technology.

Director and/or Assistant Director

1. Implements Programs of Study.

2. Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning.

3. Utilizes instructional management system models which increase student learning.

4. Monitors student progress towards mastery of Instructional Content Standards.

5. Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis.

6. Meets professional responsibilities.

7. Maintains and upgrades professional skills.

8. Maintains good work habits.

9. Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.

10. Maintain an active Occupational Advisory Committee for the instruction area.

11. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director.
