Pediatrics – Med Surg
Unit Details- Number of Beds: 8
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 (may be 1:5 depending on acuity)
- Nurse Aide Ratio: 1:8
- BLS
- PALS
Experience Requirements - Minimum 2 years of Pediatric experience
- Travel experience required
- RNs must read their own telemetry strips
- Patient Population
- General medical/surgical pediatric patients
- Drips & Skills
- RNs required to titrate drips: Yes
- Common drips:
Fluids and medications
Shifts & Scheduling - 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Self-scheduling available
- Travelers may submit schedule requests
- Must be flexible for unit coverage
- Block scheduling not guaranteed
- Contract is primarily night shift, but flexibility to work day shifts is preferred
- Weekend & Holiday Requirements
- Every other weekend
- Must be willing to work holidays during contract
