Job Description

Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager at Stratas Foods leads the implementation of Stratas Performance System (SPS) and drives improvement practices across two manufacturing facilities in Hillside and Englewood, NJ. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Continuous Improvement and involves coordinating daily and long‑term improvement activities, mentoring teams, and ensuring a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as plant change agent for continuous improvement, proactively identifying and prioritizing opportunities and driving projects to completion.
  • Lead and embed a continuous improvement culture across designated Stratas facilities, developing skills and methodologies that support SPS.
  • Independently manage projects from ideation through completion, applying strong project‑management, judgment, and mentoring skills.
  • Support training teams with onboarding, ongoing training, and deployment of SPS concepts to production teams.
  • Promote accountability by performing SPS audits to ensure tools and behaviors are effectively used.
  • Lead 2–3 Stratas sites for continuous improvement and process‑improvement activities; travel up to 25% may be required.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify, implement, and drive opportunities across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
  • Provide expertise in Lean methodologies and coach application of tools like Kanban, Value Stream Maps, Agile, and A3 Problem‑Solving.
  • Prepare detailed workflow charts and diagrams for process and program operations.
  • Analyze existing operations to propose fact‑based opportunities, communicating changes across end‑to‑end value streams and administrative areas.
  • Work with SPS Leadership Steering Team to improve the SPS framework and share best practices.
  • Review vendor proposals for new or modernized production equipment.
  • Collaborate with onsite teams and participate in meetings to drive departmental objectives.
  • Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; 8+ years of continuous‑improvement experience or equivalent. Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred with 7+ years of CI experience.

    Experience: 10+ years in F&B manufacturing or similar industry; 7+ years leading multi‑site improvement initiatives.

    Skills &

    Certifications:

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, ERP systems, downtime reporting, and maintenance software. Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt (or higher) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

    Competencies:

    • Analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to prioritize, plan, and budget.
    • Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Power BI, and ERP systems.
    • Strong communication, both oral and written, with experience challenging assumptions and driving impactful execution.
    • Self‑directed with sound judgment and professionalism.
    Additional Information

    Physical: Mostly sitting or standing, with occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

    Sensory: Clear verbal and written communication; active listening and attention to detail.

    Mental/Reasoning: Prioritization, time management, and adaptability; independent and team orientation; discretion and mandatory judgment.

    Pay Range: $ – $ with a 10% annual bonus incentive.
