Position Summary

J&M Complete Repair Experts, a division of J&M Property Management is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction & Renovation Specialist to join our growing construction team. This hands‑on role is ideal for a well‑rounded tradesperson with experience in residential and commercial remodeling, including interior and exterior projects.

You’ll play a key role in executing a wide range of renovation jobs—from kitchen and bathroom remodels to outdoor structures like decks and fencing—working alongside project managers, designers, and clients from concept to completion. We’re looking for a team member who values craftsmanship, jobsite safety, and customer service, and who thrives in a collaborative, results‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with customers, designers, and project managers to understand project goals and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Conduct on‑site assessments to evaluate existing conditions and identify scope of work.
  • Perform hands‑on remodeling tasks including:
    • Framing, finish carpentry, drywall, painting, and flooring
    • Installation of cabinets, trim, windows, and doors
    • Construction and repair of decks, fences, porches, and other exterior structures
    • Structural repairs and full‑scope residential renovations
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety protocols, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members to keep the project running smoothly.
  • Maintain project schedules and budget awareness, proactively identifying potential delays or overages.
  • Provide professional customer service, addressing client questions and concerns respectfully and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized job site and respect client property.
  • Perform heavy lifting and manual labor in all weather conditions.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and proficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with other crew members to ensure quality workmanship and on‑time completion.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3‑5+ years of experience in residential or commercial remodeling or construction.
  • Proven experience as a Carpenter in the construction or restoration industry.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Rough and finish carpentry
    • Deck and fence construction, door hanging, and exterior framing
    • Drywall hanging, taping, and finishing
    • Interior painting and flooring
    • Use of hand and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and project plans.
  • Sound understanding of building codes and jobsite safety protocols.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds and working in active construction environments.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in full‑home remodels, exterior renovations, or custom woodworking.
  • Familiarity with permitting and inspection processes.
  • OSHA or job safety training certifications.
  • Ability to train apprentices or mentor junior team members.
