Duties
Serves as technical lead for contract administration, quality assurance, and surveillance of construction within an Area or Resident Office.
Provides advice and technical assistance to individual employees, accepting or rejecting work.
Assists the Resident Engineer in interpreting intent of plans and specifications, conferring with contractor to resolve differences of opinion.
Prepares modification documents which involves design changes, differing site conditions, variations in quantity estimates, changes in specifications and drawings, etc., resulting from deficiencies encountered during the construction phase.
Prepares cost estimates in connection with approved claims.
Participates in design and planning review conferences with designers or A-E's and construction contractors, or other interested parties, to discuss construction aspects and problems.
Exercises overall coordination of construction planning and scheduling with contractors and representatives of the Using Agencies involved with new construction and modifications to existing structures, change orders, time extensions and claims.
