Worship Pastor

Southside Baptist Church is looking for a worship pastor to lead in Christ centered worship. Southside is a replant that was just relaunched in September and is currently averaging 130 people each Sunday. Southside is focused on making disciples right where we are and extending to the nations. We are looking for someone who feels called to be a part of a church replant.

• Plan, organize, and lead the worship service under the guidance of the pastor using a mixture of new songs as well as hymns, both of which are theologically sound.
• Organize and lead choir and band practices.
• Use Planning Center to schedule all services as well as volunteer schedules. Also use it for media and lyric needs.
• Lead and raise up leaders in the worship team and band.
• Develop a worship band.
• Oversee sound, lighting, and media used in worship services.
• Collaborate with the tech and communications teams to enhance the worship experience.
• Attend staff meetings and church wide events.
• Commit to praying for the church and to discipling others.
• Have a heart to win the lost and plant/replant churches.

• Be able to lead a larger congregation in worship.
• Be able to develop, mentor and lead a worship band, that includes, piano, guitars, drums, bass, and electric guitar, etc.
• Agree with South sides Statement of Faith
• A clear testimony of faith and an ongoing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• A sense of calling by God into vocational ministry.
• Maturing spiritual life and commitment to spiritual disciplines like prayer and Bible study.
• Must have strong vocal skills. The ability to play an instrument (keyboard or guitar) is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to perform general pastoral care duties such as hospital visits, counseling, and other general church needs when necessary.
• Possess the administrative skills necessary to perform the worship pastor duties, including the relational interpersonal skills for working with adults, students, and children of all ages within the congregation.
• Have a teachable spirit to grow as a person and as a leader, and be a strong team player.

Sunday Service/Rehearsal Time Commitment: 6-8 hours

Includes the following: soundchecks, worship services and rehearsals

Weekly Time Commitment (outside of Sunday): 6-8 hours

Includes time for: music research, arrangement of songs (both vocally/musically) and communication with worship team members
