Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - General Medicine in Houston, TX

Are you a dedicated General Medicine Physician seeking flexible, impactful work that makes a difference? We are offering an exciting opportunity to provide essential medical evaluations in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. As a Locum Physician, you will play a vital role in supporting veterans' health and well-being through Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, all while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments primarily based on interview and physical assessments, such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
  • Perform one-time evaluations without prescribing or providing treatment.
  • Complete exams efficiently, submit reports and addendums promptly within the designated time frames.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to client guidelines.
Required Skills:
  • Medical degree and active medical license with the ability to practice in Texas.
  • Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct confidential interviews and physical assessments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Experience with compensation and pension evaluations.
  • Background in orthopedic surgery or other specialties related to general medicine.
  • Familiarity with government or veteran healthcare systems.
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 2 years of clinical practice in general or internal medicine.
  • Prior experience with medical assessments or evaluation exams preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Must own or have access to a suitable office space (for providers performing in a dedicated location).
  • Willingness to work on a PRN basis, with flexible scheduling.
  • Local candidates preferred; travel and related expenses included in the compensation rate.
  • No certifications for DMA or portal training are reimbursed outside of the agreed-upon rates.
  • Compliant with all applicable state, federal, and local laws regarding licensure and certification.
