Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - General Medicine in Houston, TX
Are you a dedicated General Medicine Physician seeking flexible, impactful work that makes a difference? We are offering an exciting opportunity to provide essential medical evaluations in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. As a Locum Physician, you will play a vital role in supporting veterans' health and well-being through Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, all while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments primarily based on interview and physical assessments, such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Perform one-time evaluations without prescribing or providing treatment.
- Complete exams efficiently, submit reports and addendums promptly within the designated time frames.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to client guidelines.
- Medical degree and active medical license with the ability to practice in Texas.
- Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct confidential interviews and physical assessments.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Skills:
- Experience with compensation and pension evaluations.
- Background in orthopedic surgery or other specialties related to general medicine.
- Familiarity with government or veteran healthcare systems.
Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 2 years of clinical practice in general or internal medicine.
- Prior experience with medical assessments or evaluation exams preferred.
- Must own or have access to a suitable office space (for providers performing in a dedicated location).
- Willingness to work on a PRN basis, with flexible scheduling.
- Local candidates preferred; travel and related expenses included in the compensation rate.
- No certifications for DMA or portal training are reimbursed outside of the agreed-upon rates.
- Compliant with all applicable state, federal, and local laws regarding licensure and certification.
