Primary Care Physician

Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic

Position: Full-time

Community Hospital is seeking a Primary Care Physician to join it's rural health clinic and provide primary with ER coverage responsibilities.

This hire is critical to restoring long-term stability following the loss of a long-tenured physician and will play a key role in maintaining patient access, continuity of care, and community trust.

The physician will split time between clinic- based care, ER coverage/ backup, and limited inpatient roundings when applicable.

• Outpatient primary care
• ER coverage and ER backup
• Inpatient rounding when clinic patients are admitted
• URgent care support as needed
• Nursing home rounds for own patients

Experienced clinic nursing staff

• 2-4 hours per week for:
• Medical staff meetings and committees
• Rotational Medical
• Oversight/ sign- off for APP's as applicable

Transitioning to Epic

ER supported by an e Emergency hub ( Bell) for real-time assistance

Well- mainted clinic and ER facilities: no antiquated equipment concerns

• MD or DO
• Comfortable with ER/ ED coverage in a rural setting
• Elbib;e for South Dakota licensure

• ER rotation experience or prior ED exposure
• Background as EMT or CNA ( especially for early career physicians)
• Epic experience ( not required)

• Low ego, collaborative, team- first mindset
• Comfortable working in a small- town, relationship- based environment
• Willingness to integrate into the community long term
