Physician Family Practice Opportunity

LOCATION:

Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center Indian Health Service 100 Lake Traverse Drive Sisseton, SD 57262

CONTRACT TERM:

  • Period of Performance:
    Begins on date of award
  • Base Period: 6 months
  • Up to Nine (9) optional 6-month extensions

SCHEDULE &

HOURS:

  • Work Week:
    Monday – Friday
  • Daily Shift: Typically 8 hours between 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Usual shift: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Weekend

    Hours:

    4-hour shifts, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Holiday Coverage:
    May be required; alternative weekday off may be scheduled
  • Expected Weekly

    Hours:

    40–50 hours

PROVIDER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience:

    Minimum 2 years recent (within past 36 months) Family Medicine/General Medicine experience
  • Education & Certification:
    Board Certified, Board Eligible, or partial completion of an accredited residency Current BLS certification
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Proficient with Electronic Health Records
  • Language:
    Must speak, read, and write fluent English
  • Health & Immunizations:
    No physical limitations preventing clinical work Proof of immunizations required:
    Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Flu, and PPD within past year

CLINICAL

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Provide primary care for all ages; average of 16 patients/day
  • Make appropriate referrals and follow through with recommended therapy
  • Participate in the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model
  • Educate patients on conditions, treatments, and wellness
  • Gather and document relevant patient history and records
  • Deliver culturally competent care to Native American patients
  • Ensure compliance with IHS, CMS, and facility standards
  • Participate in assigned committees (QA, Pharmacy & Therapeutics, etc.)
  • Engage in ongoing training and staff development
  • Participate in peer reviews per facility bylaws
