St. Francis Residential School Job Summary
The Teacher ncis Residential School provides a structured learning environment for students in a residential setting. The position is part of a highly supportive, collaborative, and team‑oriented environment focused on student success. The teacher utilizes the approved online curriculum software as the primary instructional resource. The teacher collaborates closely with St. Francis residential staff who are present in the classroom to support student behavior, engagement, and safety.
Class size is limited to a maximum of 11 students.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Appropriate Kansas teaching licensure (or eligibility)
- MANDT certification (training provided)
- CPR certification (training provided)
- Ability to work collaboratively with support staff.
- Provides instruction using approved online curriculum software aligned with individual student learning plans.
- Facilitates learning in a small classroom setting with a maximum of 11 students.
- Monitors student progress within online platforms and provides academic support, guidance, and intervention as needed.
- Collaborates daily with St. Francis residential staff who are present in the classroom to support student behavior, engagement, and emotional regulation.
- Establishes and maintains a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment that promotes academic growth and positive behavior.
- Implements trauma‑informed instructional and behavior management practices.
- Maintains accurate records of student attendance, academic progress, and behavior.
- Communicates regularly with program leadership and other professionals regarding student progress and needs.
- Participates in team meetings, case reviews, and planning sessions as required.
- Demonstrates effective classroom management strategies while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Maintains professional competence through required training, professional development, and certifications.
- Complies with all safety procedures, including MANDT techniques and crisis response protocols.
- Builds positive, respectful relationships with students, staff, and administrators, contributing to a strong, supportive, and team‑focused work environment.
- Demonstrates effective communication, collaboration, and human relations skills.
- Complies with all St. Francis Residential School policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the administrator and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

CompensationSalary is commensurate with education and experience and placement is on the certified salary schedule. Pay range is $46,250 – $76,938.
