Location: Colton
The Educational Assistant provides instructional, behavioral, and clerical support to teachers and students in the school setting. The Educational Assistant works with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning concepts, support student engagement, and help maintain a positive and productive learning environment. This position may support students with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, or physical needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing instructional activities and classroom routines.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons and skill development.
- Support students in completing assignments and participating in classroom activities.
- Monitor student behavior and assist in implementing behavior management plans.
- Provide supervision during classroom activities, lunch, recess, field trips, and other school events as assigned.
- Assist students with organizational, social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Support students with special needs in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and district guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as directed.
- Prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning activities.
- Assist with classroom organization and maintenance of a safe, clean learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, support staff, and families as appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and records.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or administrator.
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work effectively with children and adolescents.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Contract days and hours determined by the school district.
- Salary and benefits established according to district policies and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
