Secretary to Post Grad
Provides support to the Counseling Office by fulfilling requests for information from post‑grad institutions related to graduating or graduated students. Supplies transcript and application information, assists with career and college fairs by organizing and developing marketing materials, acts as a liaison between teachers, post‑grad institutions, teachers, and counselors to ensure students transition smoothly after high school. Develops and promotes good community relations between school and community clientele.
PositionSpecific Information
- Present Naviance tasks to classrooms
- Assist teachers with letters of recommendation including resetting passwords, login issues, form preparation and reviewing letters before submission to colleges
- Create and publish marketing and promotional material for all Post Grad Events under supervision of Counselors
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
- Submit student transcripts and supplemental application material to colleges (initial, mid‑year, final) and communicate with counselors and students about supplemental application material
- Schedule and promote college/trade school/military visits
- Create and manage school‑specific scholarship database; manage scholarship information in Naviance; assist students and families with scholarship search, applications and resources
- Help plan and organize DCSD Career Showcase
- Help coordinate school participation in Colorado Council College Fair
- Help plan and organize College Planning Information Night(s)
- Conduct college application labs, financial aid help or other group sessions as directed by Counselors
- Publish newsletters
- Attend college visits, fairs and information sessions
- Guide students/parents through the college, career and military application/enlistment process as requested
- Keep track of data on scholarship awards and student post‑grad plans
Education: High School or Equivalent
Skills: Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions. Strong organizational and time management skills. Collaborative team player. Maintains a generally positive attitude. Observes all District policies and procedures.

Maximum Hire Rate: $22.63 USD Hourly
Full Salary Range: $17.80 USD – $27.45 USD Hourly
Benefits: This position is eligible for voluntary 401(k), 403(b) and 457 retirement plans.
Time Off Plans: This position is eligible for paid sick and personal time.
Approx Scheduled Days Per Year: 260 days indicates a year‑round position. Time off [or Off‑Track Days] are then granted based on the position. Any exceptions to the normal off‑track time will be noted in the Additional Position Details section above, as scheduled work days.
