Special Education Teacher | Java, South Dakota

This rewarding contract position runs from August 18th, 2026, through May 20th, 2027, with a schedule of Monday through Thursday, 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM. Located near Java, SD, you'll play a vital role in fostering growth and learning among students with a blend of cognitive impairments, autism, learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, and other health needs.

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience teaching in K-12 settings
• Strong background supporting learners with diverse and complex needs
• Proven ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student goals
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Adaptability and creativity in delivering instruction and classroom management
• Understanding and application of current best practices for special education

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction for students with varying disabilities
• Develop, implement, monitor, and update IEPs for each student
