About The JobReliability Superintendent is integral to improved maintenance and operations utilization of increased equipment availability. They are responsible for ensuring that equipment, processes, and systems perform consistently and dependably over time, minimizing the risk of failures and downtime. This is a strategic role focused on proactively preventing issues and optimizing the overall lifecycle of assets, rather than just day-to-day maintenance. The Reliability superintendent identifies and manages risks that can affect asset reliability and business operations, focusing on risk management, loss elimination, and lifecycle asset management.
Responsibilities- Champion a safety-first culture in all maintenance and engineering practices.
- Ensure that reliability improvement work complies with all applicable Federal, State, and Coeur Safety Policies and Standards.
- Lead & develop team championing best practices in reliability maintenance.
- Develop, recommend, and implement strategies for improving equipment reliability and processes.
- Lead defect elimination efforts and reliability initiatives using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and other engineering methodologies to identify failure causes, develop solutions and implement corrective actions.
- Perform asset criticality analysis to prioritize maintenance efforts.
- Conduct critical spares analysis to ensure availability of essential parts.
- Ensure the integrity and reliability of assets through a thorough analysis.
- Develop and oversee condition monitoring programs.
- Develop and update action lists and reliability dashboard metrics.
- Analyze, monitor and quantify reliability cost savings and equipment life cycle costs and drive improvements.
- Review CMMS database for equipment and work order history to perform RCM.
- Ensure that RCM database software is updated and maintained.
- Report Reliability Performance that is measured by mean time between failures, availability and overall equipment effectiveness and verify continuous improvement.
- Monitor, trend, and drive improvement projects.
- Verify cause, effect diagrams, and analyze correctly.
- Drive planned reliability improvement work through field observations.
- Lead Post-Mortem meetings after major maintenance projects or failures.
- Provide leadership with critical spares decision processes.
- Heavy involvement in budgetary process, driving annual and monthly budgets using zero-based budgeting (ZBB).
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and contractors to support reliability and cost objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Valid vehicle driver’s license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or 5+ years equivalent education/experience) required.
- Experienced in field engineering in an industrial maintenance setting.
- Strong foundation in maintenance engineering, defect elimination, and reliability methodologies required.
