About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Systems Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary Engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the full systems engineering life cycle—from defining operational concepts and system requirements to supporting integration, verification, and technical management activities.
Qualifications & Experience- BSc / BEng in Electronic, Software, Mechanical or related Engineering field.
- BSc/BEng (Hons) or MSc/MEng advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years; preferably 5 years experience in advanced engineering environments, doing complex system architectures.
- Formal training in System Life Cycle Management is advantageous.
- Exposure to requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) beneficial.
- Strong understanding of mathematics, physical sciences, and multidisciplinary engineering principles.
- Foundational knowledge of Systems Engineering processes, methods and lifecycle activities.
- Ability to extract, interpret, and manage system requirements.
- Familiarity with system architecture development, system modelling, and system performance analysis.
- Understanding of technical management principles within the context of project management and product lifecycle.
- Ability to use Systems Engineering tools for:
- Requirements management
- System performance modelling
- Ability to acquire and expand system-specific knowledge quickly.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Requirements Management
- Develop operational concepts and define system architectures.
- Generate, trace, validate, and analyse system requirements.
- Allocate system requirements to functional and physical architectures.
- Manage system-level requirements using formal tools such as DOORS.
- Technical Solution Definition
- Support system design to ensure compliance with requirements, cost, schedule, and performance goals.
- Assist in deriving system-level requirements and design considerations.
- Contribute to ensuring supportability, manufacturability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- System Analysis
- Perform system modelling, simulations, trade-off studies, and functional analyses.
- Support system budget allocations (power, mass, error, etc.).
- Participate in design risk assessments and life cycle cost analysis.
- System Realisation
- Support system integration planning and execution.
- Assist with engineering tests and evaluation activities.
- Participate in system verification and validation activities, including test design and test reporting.
- Support system safety and Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) tasks.
- Technical Management
- Support the development and maintenance of system life cycle models, milestones, and baselines.
- Assist in preparing and executing the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP).
- Participate in technical reviews and ensure compliance with design control processes.
- Contribute to baseline management, ensuring alignment between design, requirements, and configuration control.
- Assist with risk identification, mitigation planning, and maintenance of risk registers.
- Team & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with engineering teams to support delivery of technical milestones.
- Participate in interdisciplinary reviews, customer engagements, and preparation of technical documentation.
- Provide 2nd-level support to production and customer support teams where required.
- Help resolve technical conflicts and support communication between stakeholders.
- Project Support & Planning
- Support Project Manager in defining scope, Works Breakdown Structure (WBS), resource requirements, and contracting activities.
- Contribute to achieving project objectives within technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
