A Brief OverviewLeads the day to day operations of the dietary, laundry and housekeeping department and employees. Ensures that all standards and regulations concerning dietary services are met and maintained which includes quality dietary program for patients.
What you will do- Directs, organizes and facilitates planning and overall direction for the following departments:
Dietary, Laundry and Housekeeping assuring departmental compliance with policies and procedures. - Remains competent in the dietary, laundry, housekeeping and departmental duties for self and departmental employees, scheduling training as necessary to ensure appropriate competency levels.
- Obtains and interprets patient information specific to nutritional needs, patient/family level of knowledge, ability and readiness to learn about nutrition requirements, cultural/religious needs and physical/mental limitations to prepare patient menus.
- Ensures continuity of nutrition care through communication with relevant care providers at pre-admission and post-discharge.
- Directs and administers housekeeping services to maintain the hospital environment in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition. Establishes standards and work procedures for Housekeeping in accordance with the established policies of the hospital.
- Maintains current policy and procedure manual for all support services functions. Prepares appropriate records and reports as required for the department.
- Ensures that all standards of cleanliness and quality are maintained in the department.
- Meets with, and works closely with, the facility quality and infection control staff for departmental performance.
- Provides input and reporting to leader on monthly departmental statistics and prepares reports as requested.
- Demonstrates awareness of fiscal constraints and works to identify ways to use resources effectively.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- High School or GED Equivalent
- Certified Dietary Manager - Association of Nutrition & Food service Professionals within 1-1/2 Yrs and
- Serv Safe Certificate - National Restaurant Association within 1-1/2 Yrs
- Related experience and/or training in food service management.
