Estimated Period of Performance:

The period of performance is for one (1) base year starting August 15, 2026 - August 14, 2027, or upon award of this task order contract, plus up to two (2) option years from August 15, 2027-August 14, 2028, and August 15, 2028-August 14, 2029.

Type of Employment:

In-person, approx. 40 hours per week.

Estimated Total Compensation:

$49.79 per hour

Paid Time Off:

Up to 80 hours per year, which starts accruing on the day of hire.

Sick Leave per Year:

Up to 56 hours per year, which starts occurring on the day of hire.

Paid Federal Holidays:

Eleven (11) Paid Federal Holidays

Working Hours

The School Psychologist will typically work Monday through Friday during normal hours of operation, 8:00 a.m.

-5:00 p.m. This position specifies 14 days/month on-site for school psychological services, 10 days/month on-site for achievement/transition purposes, and 2 days/month on-site for social-emotional/assessment.

Qualifications
  • Has at least five (5) years of relevant school-setting experience (reservation-school experience preferred).
  • Must have an up to date and unrestricted South Dakota school psychologist license.
  • Must have a degree in School Psychology from an accredited university.
  • Must have South Dakota certification as an Academic and Mental Health Evaluator and as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).
  • Has knowledge of South Dakota and federal special-education laws and eligibility rules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of administrative procedures and NIH systems.
  • Copies of all certifications and resumes must be forwarded with your application.
Summary Of Duties

The School Psychologist will provide long-term school psychological and academic evaluation services for approximately 101 students. Duties include special-education psychological services; intellectual, behavioral, achievement, social-emotional and transition evaluations; crisis counseling; consultation with school teams; timely reports; participation in eligibility meetings; staff/parent training; collaboration with school personnel and families; and compliance with IDEA, South Dakota law, and federal special-education requirements.

The School Psychologist is expected to wear approved professional clothing appropriate to the environment while on duty as requested.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological, psycho educational, and academic evaluations for initial and reevaluation referrals.
  • Administer, score, interpret, and document cognitive, achievement, behavioral, adaptive, and social-emotional assessments.
  • Prepare timely, accurate, and legally compliant psychological evaluation reports and recommendations.
  • Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and consultation to students, staff, administrators, and families.
  • Participating in eligibility, IEP, Section 504, multidisciplinary, and other educational planning meetings.
  • Assist with transition assessments and planning to support student educational and post-secondary goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers to develop appropriate interventions and support plans.
  • Provide training and guidance to school personnel regarding behavioral, psychological, and educational best practices.
  • Maintain confidential student records and documentation in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and district policies.
