Admissions Specialist

Overview

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

To this end, Acadia Healthcare is currently interested in hearing fromdynamic,results driven candidates who may be a fit for theAdmissions

Specialist position. The Admissions Specialist will  be primarily responsible for the admission and/or registration of patients into the facility andmaintainingcommunications between the organization and thepatientreferralsand family.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Promptly respond to inbound referrals via phone, fax, webform, etc. toassistclients and their family’swho are seeking treatment.

• Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies, and procedures.

• Initiate contact to gatherrequiredclinical and demographic data frompatientand other sources.

• Respond promptly to inquiry calls.

• Schedule assessments.

• Assistprospective patients and significant others in seeking treatment.

• Refer inquiries to other agencies and community resources when not appropriate forfacilityassistanceor admission.

• Coordinate with referral sources.

• Coordinate transportation arrangements for patients.

• Responsible formaintainingall the documentation involved with the admissions process.

• Encourages and builds mutual trust,respect,and cooperation among team members.

• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• College degree preferred

• Two years’ experience in healthcare admissions, preferably in the mental health or substance abuse field.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/

CERTIFICATIONS:

• Addiction Counselor Trainee (ACT) required.
• Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC);
  Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor (CCDS) or Certified Employee Assistance Program (CEAP) certification preferred.

• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required(training available upon hire and offered by facility).

• First aid may berequiredbased on state or facility.
