Bring your expertise in inpatient pharmacy to a vital healthcare role at an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility in Rosebud, SD. This night-shift position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting, serving a unique patient population with culturally respectful practices.

Location:

Rosebud, SD (within 3-5 hours travel radius)
Type:
Contract

Schedule:

  • Nights, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
  • 12-hour shifts with a 30-minute break

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review medication orders alongside labs, vitals, allergies, and patient charts to ensure safe and effective treatment.
  • Process and verify medication and prescription orders accurately.
  • Prepare intravenous admixtures and support inpatient medication distribution.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients on prescribed medications.
  • Collaborate closely with providers, nurses, and pharmacy personnel to optimize patient care.
  • Address drug-therapy questions and clarify orders as needed.
  • Recognize adverse drug reactions and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Process refill requests and manage outside prescriptions efficiently.
  • Perform controlled-substance audits in compliance with regulations.
  • Complete required IHS training and documentation diligently.

Qualifications and

Experience:

  • Experience in IHS or tribal health settings is preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Skilled in intravenous admixture preparation.
  • Comfortable navigating electronic health records and pharmacy systems.
  • Valid U.S. drivers license.
