Looking for a hands-on role where you can work with equipment, stay active, and be part of a team that supports agriculture? This Feed Mill Operator opportunity is based in Corson, SD. In this role, you'll help produce high-quality livestock feed by operating equipment, supporting day-to-day production, and keeping the facility running safely and efficiently. No direct feed mill experience? No problem on-the-job training is provided!
This position offers onsite training, forklift certifications, competitive pay and benefits, and the opportunity to be a part of the largest cooperative in the U.S. Sold mostly in bulk, the feed mill is a key component in the formulation of the highest quality ingredients and all the essentials to improve health, performance, and production.
- Operate feed mill equipment (grinders, mixers, batching/pelleting systems) to manufacture livestock feed
- Receive, handle, and move feed ingredients, load and unload trucks
- Prepare and manage loadout, including opening hatches, attaching hoses, sampling, and ensuring accurate product delivery
- Monitor batching/scaling systems and adjust processes to maintain feed quality and production accuracy
- Perform routine equipment maintenance (greasing, inspections, minor troubleshooting) and report mechanical issues
- Maintain a clean, safe mill environment through daily housekeeping, spill cleanup, and site upkeep
- Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards while working with the team to meet daily production targets
- 1 years of experience in operations, production, manufacturing, agriculture, or general labor environments
- Must meet minimum age requirements
- Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
- Agriculture experience preferred
- Forklift certification preferred
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to work independently for extended periods of time, as well as in confined spaces and in hazardous environments
- Ability to spend long periods of time on your feet including walking, standing, and climbing steps and ladders, and working at heights up to 120 ft.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to wear all required protective equipment, which may include respirators, hard hats, and eye and hearing protection
- Ability to use both automated and manual tools and equipment
- Ability to shovel, sweep, load, unload, lift, and carry materials up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to work in noisy, dusty, and all-weather conditions
- Additional OT during peak periods
- 1st Shift: 4:00 AM 1:00 PM, Monday Friday
- 2nd Shift: 12:00 PM 9:00 PM, Monday Friday
