Nursing
Supervises the day‑to‑day operations for nursing staff and nursing activities in a structured care setting. Adheres to Sanford policies and procedures and demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for clinic patients of all ages. Oversees care following established standards, utilizes technical software for process improvement, and maintains effective relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
Assists with human resources administrative processing, budget preparation, inventory monitoring, risk management, and training. Reacts calmly in emergencies, interprets and applies guidelines, and maintains confidentiality. Participates in clinical performance reviews, recommends process improvements, and implements performance improvement policies. Assists with staff training and orientation, and may fill in for clinical support staff as needed.
Responsibilities- Utilize and ensure staff follow the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care.
- Coordinate care, perform patient assessment, patient education, triage, and other nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with inter‑professional colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
- Maintain current certifications and pursue continuing education for staff as required.
- Demonstrate competency within the full scope of nursing expertise and applicable standards.
- Follow state Nurse Practice Act and administrative rules.
- Adhere to Sanford Professional Nursing Practice standards and the Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
- Three years’ experience as a registered nurse (RN) in a clinical role preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the Nursing Practice Act and standards of nursing care, plus administrative and management techniques.
- Current unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs; multistate licensure accepted for NLC states.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Certification may be required depending on specialty or service area.
