Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents. The RN collaborates with residents and families, other inter‑disciplinary colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement, and evaluate care. They demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, utilizing appropriate age and population‑specific standards. The RN cares for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment, and is responsible for coordinating care, resident assessment, resident education, and various other nursing interventions.
Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to residents.
- Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Demonstrate competency within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, using appropriate age and population‑specific standards.
- Care for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Coordinate care, resident assessment, resident education, and other nursing interventions.
- Serve as charge nurse when required and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel within their job descriptions, skills, resident care needs, and competence level.
- Provide assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care and service concerns.
- Function within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act, Administrative Rules, and state regulations.
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA) is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring, and/or possesses multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- Obtain and subsequently maintain required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
