Job DetailsMedcor is looking to hire a full-time Registered Nurse to be an Onsite Health Nurse at our employer based, occupational health clinic in Milbank, South Dakota. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 10am - 7pm with compensation of $40-$45 per hour depending on experience.
Responsibilities And DutiesIn this role, you'll lead health initiatives, manage workplace safety programs, and serve as a trusted clinical resource for employees and leadership alike. You will:
- Provide first aid care and treatment by triaging an employee after an injury following our step-by-step care protocols, and supporting the employees with wellness, education and teaching.
- Be responsible for the daily operations of the clinic, including ordering supplies and following compliance processes.
- Work collaboratively with the employers Safety Team and Human Resources, as well as working with medical providers at offsite offices such as urgent care and hospitals.
- Work independently, with support available by the operations manager and other Medcor staff remotely.
A typical day in the life of a Medcor Onsite Health Nurse:
- Administer and manage health service functions and daily clinic operations
- Provide superior customer service to Medcor's client and employees
- Assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor's Evidence Based Medicine protocols, known as the Medcor Care Protocols (MCPs)
- Build and maintain internal team relationships
- Support for onsite employee health and wellness efforts
- Collaborate with client professionals in health, safety and environmental practices
- Collaborate with client human resources and benefits professionals on clinic issues
- Document and manage information using electronic medical records software and other tools.
- Pre-employment and post-offer screenings
- Physical Assessment Testing (PATs)
- Case management
- OSHA record-keeping
- General administrative duties
- Be able to work independently and have good time management and organizational skills.
- Have valid licensure for the position in which you are applying and current BLS (AHA or ARC) certification
- Have strong computer and other technology skills (navigate cell phones, texting, fax machines, etc), as well as familiarity with EMR software
- Be strong enough to lift a 50lb emergency response bag
- Possess excellent verbal / written communication skills
- Have a positive and outgoing personality
- Be willing to go above and beyond just because that's who you are
- Be passionate about people and giving them the best care humanly possible
- Be able to have fun
- You are Spanish speaking bilingual or willing to learn
- You are comfortable working in a worksite clinic environment
- You have relevant occupational health experience
- You have experience in emergency medicine or critical care
