Pay Range$31.00 - $48.50 per hour (actual rate dependent upon experience).
Position OverviewAvera welcomes new graduates to start their nursing careers in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. This role offers a sign‑on bonus of $15,000.00 and opportunities for growth and student loan repayment through our repayment program.
Responsibilities- Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team.
- Coordinates with other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care.
- Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and documenting physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors.
- Creates nursing diagnoses, establishes care objectives, and defines interventions, schedules, and timetables.
- Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals and instructing patients, families, and friends to understand conditions, medications, and self‑care skills.
- Answers questions and provides information and resources to support patient education.
- Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring outcomes, reviewing records, and re‑evaluating care objectives as needed.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment in compliance with infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Keeps patient care equipment operational by following established procedures, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Ensures patient care supplies are ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items.
- Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership.
- Must be able to work the hours specified and perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including visual acuity and effective communication.
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice upon hire.
- Preferred: 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical environment.
