- Shift: Varies (United States)

Hours:
0 - Compensation: $24.00 – $36.00 per hour
- Union Position: No
- Travel: Required to support multiple locations within a 150‑mile radius of permanent address. Mileage reimbursement provided.
- Premium Pay: $5.00 per hour on all hours, $1.25 per hour weekend shift differential, $1.25 per hour evening/night differential (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
- Experience: Minimum 3 months (6 months preferred) in Long Term Care.
- Scheduling: Minimum 30 hours per month, one weekend shift per month.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long‑term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
- Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.
- Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, utilizing appropriate age and population‑specific standards related to the resident’s physical and psychosocial needs.
- Presents the ability to perform assessments, testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident’s status, and provide the required care.
- Recognizes problems, recommends solutions, and responds effectively to assist in emergent situations.
- Ensures the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
- Contributes to resident assessment and administers medications or treatments as ordered.
- Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
- Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.
- Works effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
- Communicates clearly and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Counsels residents, family members and/or resident advocate, under direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician on prevention and treatment plans.
- Applies resident education principles to develop a self‑care program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Must have attended a pre‑licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility.
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing Board and/or possesses multi‑state licensure privileges.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
- For positions requiring IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota, graduation from a Board‑approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
