Role DescriptionThe Registered Nurse at Wheat crest Hills is a full-time, on-site role located in Britton, SD. This role is responsible for providing direct patient care, including assessing patient needs, administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs, and documenting care accurately in medical records. The Registered Nurse collaborates with physicians, other nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Daily responsibilities include educating patients and families on health conditions and post-discharge care, responding to changes in patient status, and supporting infection control and safety protocols. The role also involves participating in shift handoffs, contributing to quality improvement efforts, and mentoring support staff as needed.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Dakota (or eligibility for licensure).
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred).
- Demonstrated clinical skills in patient assessment, medication administration, and care planning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple patients, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Commitment to patient safety, infection control practices, and confidentiality standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. - Experience in hospital or long-term care settings is beneficial but not required for motivated early-career candidates.
