RN - ER

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, and defining interventions to support patients, their families, and friends. This role involves providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support, ensuring that patients understand their conditions, medications, and self-care skills. ER RNs are responsible for noting changes in patient conditions and needs, as well as re-evaluating care objectives as necessary.

• Develop nursing diagnoses and establish care objectives for patients in the emergency room setting.
• Define and implement nursing interventions based on patient assessments.
• Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families.
• Educate patients and families on their conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
• Monitor and document changes in patient conditions and respond accordingly.

This position requires varied shifts, including 12-hour shifts, three times a week with rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

• 2+ years of current Emergency Room RN experience in an acute hospital setting (Required).
• Active South Dakota or Compact Registered Nurse license (Required).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications (Required).
• COVID-19 vaccination (Highly Preferred).
