American Traveler is hiring an RN for a combined ER/Med-Surg unit on night shifts, requiring ER and Med-Surg experience along with BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
Details- Critical access hospital (CAH) acute care setting
- Unit cares for Med-Surg, outpatient, and Emergency Department patients
- RNs float daily between Med-Surg, outpatient, and ER areas
- 10 patient rooms with an average of close to 4 patients per day
- Nurse-to-patient ratio averages 1:2 or 1:3, up to 1:6 depending on census and charge nurse status
- Minimum staffing of 2 RNs per shift, typically supported by a PCT or LPN
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Equipment includes Philips central monitor/telemetry and Lifepak 15
- No medication dispensing system on unit
- Active RN license (Compact or SD State)
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience required
- Critical access hospital experience preferred
- EPIC experience preferred
- Must be able to function in a charge nurse capacity in the ER, preferred but flexible
- RN works alongside another RN to provide care across Med-Surg, outpatient, and ER patient populations
- Performs typical RN procedures including IV starts and foley catheter insertion
- Orientation can be tailored up to one week, including exposure to both day and night shift operations
- Dress code requires navy scrubs
- All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Applicants with prior employment at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
- Local candidates within an 80-mile radius may be considered
