We’re hiring an Area Safety Specialist to partner with leaders in the field, support our teams and customers, and help strengthen safe, healthy, and compliant practices across the region. In this role, you’ll be a trusted safety partner in the field—coaching teams, reinforcing safe behaviors, and helping leaders maintain strong safety performance across your assigned area. You’ll work closely with local leaders and the Safety Manager to bring our safety standards to life, support incident prevention and response, and help create a culture where safety is part of everyday work.
Travel to job sites and support for our professional services teams will be an important part of the role.

- Promote Behavioral Based Safety policies and procedures across assigned areas
- Lead weekly on-site safety inspections, including documentation, tracking, and follow-up
- Investigate and manage accidents, injuries, near misses, and root causes
- Facilitate meetings with Safety Techs and support their development in assigned areas
- Train Safety Techs and site leadership on accident response and management
- Partner with clients and internal teams to understand and meet site‑specific safety requirements
- Manage safety for a condensed area within the same metropolitan area or nearby towns
- Communicate safety goals, priorities, and contingency plans with area leaders
- Support Automation, Design Services, OTIS (Operational Technology Infrastructure & Security), and M&S (Maintenance & Support) teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to track information, conduct audits, and maintain accurate records
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
- Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public
- Ability to work collaboratively and influence results through others without direct authority
- Strong judgment and prioritization skills with the ability to manage stress and shifting demands
- Support project startups, turnarounds, and other high‑risk work activities
- Industrial, contracting, oil & gas, food & beverage, wastewater, or construction experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university, preferably in Occupational Health or Safety
- 4+ years of experience leading a successful behavior‑based safety culture and safety leadership in the construction industry
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA standards
- Successful completion of OSHA Authorized Instructor Course #500 for Construction and NFPA 70E classes
- Successful completion of 30‑hour OSHA training
- Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid training certificates
$75,000‑$85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, with bonus opportunities, a vehicle allowance, and a comprehensive benefits package.
LocationThis role can be based out of our Omaha, NE;
Sioux Center, IA; or Sioux Falls, SD office.
Travel will vary based on geo‑market needs. Approximately 50% travel is expected between the office and job sites, with overnight stays as needed.
