Production Manager White River

Our client in the Agricultural sector is looking for a Macadamia Production Manager to join their team in White River.

• Plan, develop, and maintain the macadamia orchard, ensuring it is well-organized and efficiently laid out.
• Oversee planting, grafting, and tree care to ensure healthy macadamia trees.
• Regularly inspect trees for signs of disease, pests, or nutritional deficiencies.
• Implement pest and disease control measures as needed.
• Manage irrigation systems to ensure macadamia trees receive the appropriate amount of water.
• Implement a fertilization program to maintain soil fertility and tree health.
• Schedule and coordinate macadamia nut harvesting to optimize yield and quality.
• Oversee the processing and storage of harvested nuts.
• Ensure that macadamia nuts meet quality standards, including size, flavour, and moisture content.
• Implement sorting and grading procedures to achieve premium nut quality.
• Recruit, train, and supervise farm labourers and seasonal workers.
• Create work schedules and allocate tasks efficiently.
• Develop and manage budgets for macadamia production.
• Monitor expenses and seek cost-effective solutions.
• Maintain detailed records of crop yields, expenses, and other farm-related data.
• Use data to analyse and improve macadamia production processes.
• Maintain and oversee the use of farm equipment and machinery.
• Ensure that farm infrastructure, such as irrigation systems and storage facilities, is well-maintained.
• Develop and execute a strategic plan for the macadamia orchard's growth and sustainability.
• Explore opportunities for diversification and expansion.

• Grade 12 and any additional agricultural qualification will be advantageous.
• 5 – 7 years experience in a seminal management position.
• Stable working history.
• Must be fluent in Afrikaans and English.
• Valid driver’s license.
