job overview
summit contracting is currently seeking an experienced overhead door foreman. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the installation, service, and repair of overhead and specialty door systems, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. This position provides leadership to field crews, collaborates closely with project management, and ensures all work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with manufacturer specifications and applicable codes.
The foreman is accountable for maintaining a clean, organized, and professional jobsite at all times and for confirming that all materials, equipment, and tools are properly staged and ready prior to the start of work. In this role, the foreman establishes and upholds expectations for workmanship, safety, cleanliness, and professionalism across all job sites.
- lead and supervise overhead door crews on installation, service, and repair projects
- plan daily work activities, manpower, tools, and materials
- read and interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturer installation requirements
- ensure all work complies with safety standards, company policies, and applicable codes
- coordinate with project managers, customers, and other trades to maintain schedules
- train, coach, and develop crew members to improve skills and productivity
- perform quality control inspections and resolve installation or performance issues
- track job progress, labor hours, materials, and report issues or changes promptly
- maintain job-site cleanliness, organization, and professionalism
- all other duties as assigned.
- cdl class a (or ability to obtain one)
- overhead door experience
- high school diploma or
- osha certified is preferred
- forklift and aerial work platform certified, preferred
- ability to read blueprints
- willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
- take ownership of your jobs
- keep things organized and crews moving
- watch costs and labor hours like they’re your own
- speak up, solve problems, and follow through
- don’t mind long day
