Intent

The lead carpenter is completely responsible for the successful completion of their assigned project. This includes bring the project in on time, on budget, and maintaining a high level of quality.

Essential Functions – Authority
  • The lead carpenter is the main authority on the specific projects assigned to them.
  • The lead carpenter will have the project manager make all change orders and credit memos for their projects.
  • The lead carpenter will be responsible for all material ordering, purchasing and pick up on their projects.
  • The lead carpenter will be responsible for all company employees on their projects.
  • The lead carpenter will be responsible for the overseeing of all sub-contractors on their projects.
  • The lead carpenter will be responsible for all needed inspections on their projects.
  • The lead carpenter will be responsible for a safe and clean project site.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 1-4 employees in the Production. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education And/Or Experience

Five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw/interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Builder Trend Internet software and Builder Trend Spreadsheet software.
