Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic
You will perform preventive maintenance and repair of heavy duty vehicle fleet and related equipment. You will make sure that the equipment is safe and well maintained as they play a major function in handling operations.
This position opening is on a night shift.
Night shift will earn an additional $2/hour for a shift premium.
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you must be able to:
- Ensure preventive maintenance of our heavy duty vehicle fleet and related equipment: small and big forklift, service/ tow trucks, scissor lift, genie-boom and small engines
- Troubleshoot and fix problems of all kinds
- Adjust, replace, fix various parts of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Inform the Maintenance supervisor of the engines status
- Read and understand the maintenance and repairs manuals
- Must be able to safely load, unload or handle hazardous materials, including paint waste and used oil, while following safety procedures. All safety training relating to hazardous materials handling must be completed prior to engaging in these activities.
- Perform others duties as assigned (welding, cutting, lubricating, etc)
SKILLS:
- Mechanical sense
- Analytical sense
- Rigor and meticulousness
Must be able to :
- Climb stairs and ladders; work at heights
- Lift and carry between 30-50 lbs
- Stand and walk for long periods of time
- Work above shoulders
- Tolerate exposure to weather, hot/ cold environments
- Work in confined space
- Must provide own tools
- Diploma/ training in Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or relevant training

- Recondition engines, transmissions, big/ small forklift mast, etc
- Read and understand the maintenance and repairs manuals
- Must be able to safely load, unload or handle hazardous materials, including paint waste and used oil, while following safety procedures. All safety training relating to hazardous materials handling must be completed prior to engaging in these activities.
- Perform others duties as assigned (welding, cutting, lubricating, etc)

Must be able to :

- Work in confined space
Must provide own tools
- Diploma/ training in Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or relevant training
- Relevant experience
