Assistant Track and Field

Applications will be accepted beginning Wednesday, March 4, 2026 12:00 AM (Central Standard Time).

• Education:
  
  BA/BS preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Coaching and teaching experience desired.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit; ability to travel between locations.
• Other Requirements:
  Fundamentals of Coaching or equivalent (must be completed once);
  Sports First Aid or Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries or equivalent (must be renewed once every two years);
  Concussion in Sports - What You Need to Know (must be renewed annually). High school/college participation preferred.

• Assists in the direction and coordination of interscholastic athletics in their school.
• Works in conjunction with the Head Coach in determining athlete participation during practices and games, including playing time at the respective levels.
• Positively promotes the athletic program within the schools and community.
• Operates within the policies of the conference and the SDHSAA.
• Maintains a staff relationship with other coaches.
• Assists with fund-raising activities as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Reports To: High School Head Coach, High School Activities Director, and High School Principal.
