Truck Driver

Overview

CHS Southwest Grain in Lemmon, SD is looking for a Truck Driver to join our team. This individual will help deliver fertilizer and feed to our customers in a timely fashion. The ideal candidate would have the ability to work overtime during the spring and winter months. This is a year-round M-F home daily role.

• Ensure accurate and timely pick up/deliveries to our customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Assist with loading or unloading, as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service. Treat customers professionally; greet customers promptly and courteously. Promptly handle all customer concerns and elevate to leadership if required.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip reporting, proper load securement, and hours of service.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle(s) inside and out, and maintain the work environment.
• Complete and document daily maintenance inspections. Ensure proper equipment maintenance including repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, training, personal protective equipment procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct unsafe actions or conditions.
• Report all incidents (bodily or property), accidents, and traffic violations to a supervisor immediately.
• Enroll in and complete mandatory CHS random drug and alcohol testing program and the Continuous Monitoring Program.
• Assist operational staff and perform other duties as needed or assigned. May include intercompany related driving.

• Class A CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English and understand highway traffic signs and signals.

• Maintain a CDL and DOT medical card.
• Ability to work additional hours and occasional weekends to meet business demands.
• Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain preferred.
• Agriculture background preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Pre-employment screening is based on job requirements and industry guidelines and may be required. If required, must pass screenings to include drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Actual pay offered will vary based on factors such as experience, education, training, skills and certifications, and local wage requirements.
