Join our growing team as an Associate Estimator for Utilities! In this role, you'll assist in preparing competitive cost estimates for utility projects and collaborate with the Estimating Team to ensure successful bids. We're looking for a detail‑oriented team player with strong analytical skills and a passion for construction and utility projects.

Salary: $28/hr-$30/hr
Responsibilities- Review bid documents (invite, specifications, etc.) for pertinent project information such as labor rates, wage requirements, inclusivity & local hire requirements, locations/agencies, and other potential go/no-go metrics.
- Interpret and analyze contract documents regarding terms, specifications, clarifications, and requirements for each project.
- Review trade/scope‑related specifications to confirm material types as well as spec/plan harmony/conformance.
- Review soils report to identify soil types as well as potential risks (rock, groundwater, hazardous waste) and log in One Note/Excel for Estimator review.
- Import bid items into B2W from the database and input material items into bid items.
- Request and review material & subcontractor quotes/bids on time.
- Collect and log all bid addendums, bulletins, deltas, etc., and review for potential impacts.
- Prepare and follow up on RFIs and log them.
- Communicate with customers/clients on fundamental issues.
- Prepare a basic estimate/proposal and send it if requested/required.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key vendors/subs.
- Other duties as arise.
Experience, Education & Skills
- Civil Engineering or Construction Management Degree or an equivalent combination of skills and abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office, intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and ability to learn industry‑specific software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Analytical skills & attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Experience with takeoff & estimating software preferred (Planswift, OST, B2W, etc.).
Office Environment: sitting at a desk, occasional climbing, standing, stooping, typing, and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
