Title:
Assembly & Test/Tech 'A' - 2nd Shift
Location:

Pay Range: $30.17 - $38.01
SUMMARYAssembles pneumatic and hydraulic valves, partially or completely, and conducts a variety of tests on systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure unit functions according to acceptance procedures or to determine cause of unit failure by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct high pressure and cryogenic testing safely.
- Assemble and test various valves and filters from blueprints, ensuring conformance with assembly performance test specifications within allotted timeframe.
- Determine testing procedure and equipment to be used from blueprints, work orders, quality control test manuals, performance specifications, and schematics.
- Calibrate test instruments according to specifications.
- Analyze test results related to design and test objectives, modifying or adjusting equipment to meet specifications.
- Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test method.
- Compare results with specifications and document test data.
- Assemble various quiet disc stacks.
- Analyze test results on defective units to determine cause of failure.
- Verify dimensions of mechanical parts using hand‑held measuring equipment such as micrometers, indicators, and depth micrometers.
- Apply knowledge of chemical etching (markings), tube bending, and part cleaning in pre‑clean processes.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as Instron machines, Astro Med, and mass spectrometer.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, production personnel, quality control personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results to resolve problems.
- Operate airborne and structure‑borne noise measurement equipment.
- Interpersonal skills required to build relationships and work in a team environment.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good judgment in decision making and problem solving.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Working knowledge of standard test equipment (data recorders, pressure transducers and gauges, flow measuring devices, environmental chambers, thermo‑couplers, and helium leak detectors).
- Proficiency with MS Office software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of plant operations and processes.
Two‑year certificate from college or technical school with three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or a High School Diploma or GED Certificate with five (5) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
