Function/Position SummaryToworkwithparents, students,andstaff inordertoprevent,identify, evaluateandremediateawiderangeof oral communication problems, including articulation, voice, fluency and language disorders.
Job Duties /Responsibilities- Preventioncanincludeconsultation,inservicetraining,andspeakingwithparentsandparentgroups.
- Identificationcanincludepre-referral(studentsupportteams),screenings,andreferralsforthe evaluation process.
- Assessment may include data collection through standardized or non-standardized measures, interpretation,report writing,sharingresultswithparentsandstaff,determiningeligibilityforservices, and developing IEP's.
- Interventioncanincludecaseloadmanagement(scheduling),directremediationwithintheeducational setting, pull out services, consulting on academic and social issues, development ongoing goals, documenting progress, collaborating with classroom teachers, and holding annual review meetings.
- Completingcaseloadrecordsforspecialeducationfunding.
- MaintainingstudentIEP'sandevaluationsonweb-basedcomputerprogram.
- Abilitytoworkcollaborativelyinateamsetting.
- Illinois Certificate with Speechand Language Pathology endorsement (Type
73orType
10orType 03/09). - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Speech Language Pathologist License .
- Master'sdegreeorhigherin
