Job Description
:
We are looking for an experienced Solder Technician to join our growing team at a prototype manufacturing company located in Chicago's western suburbs. This opportunity is within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment, building a wide variety of electronic assemblies. We specialize in highly complex prototype and low-volume production, where quality, attention to detail and craftsmanship are key.

• Perform electronic assembly and soldering operations, including component installation, replacement of missing components, and solder touch-up/rework.
• Assemble electronic components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and modules using visual aids, drawings, wiring lists, diagrams, and process documentation.
• Inspect completed work to verify conformance with quality requirements and perform rework or corrections as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform additional duties and support manufacturing needs as assigned.

• Excellent hand SMT and thru-hole soldering skills with both SnPb and lead-free solder
• Good understanding of component polarity requirements
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• High attention to detail
• Experience working to IPC standards including class 3 products
• Rework of all types of SMT components including fine pitch, (Leadless rework preferred)
• Proficiency with the use of microscope
• Minor trace repair on PCB and board level repair skills a plus
