SMT Machine Operator - 1st and 2nd Shifts(Temporary - Ongoing Need)

Creative Electronics and Software (CES) is a privately owned Contract Electronics and PCB Manufacturer founded in 1989, with manufacturing locations in South Elgin, IL and Las Vegas, NV. We support a diverse customer base including RFID, energy conservation, medical equipment, military, wireless telemetry, gaming and entertainment, smart grid, and industrial controls.

• Competitive pay: $16 - $18 per hour

Using proper documentation, the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Machine Operator sets up all required machines to run PCBs including the board loader, screen printer, pick-and-place equipment, reflow oven, and conveyors.

• Set up, load components onto, and tear down feeders and SMT pick-and-place machines
• Monitor equipment performance and component placement using SMT equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and keep machines clean
• Replace stock when required
• Program PCBs and save production programs
• Follow quality and production standards

• Previous SMT experience preferred
• Manufacturing, machine operation, assembly, or electronics experience is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic understanding of IPC SMT Placement and Soldering Acceptability Standards preferred
• Knowledge of electronic component identification preferred
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Basic Microsoft Office and keyboarding skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to read and understand assembly drawings
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and/or electromechanical laboratory setting.

This is an ongoing need; however, selected individuals will be employed through CES's staffing partner and will not be employees of CES.
