Position Summary
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology and business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate objectives to teams effectively.
Responsibilities- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
- Manage and support customer service initiatives, including store of the community and community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved successfully.
- Develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies and provide process improvement leadership for a high‑quality customer experience.
- Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing profit‑loss statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, and monitoring inventory flow and operational processes.
- Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, and recognizing performance.
- Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth.
- Coordinate and oversee job‑related activities and assignments, building accountability and measuring progress toward achieving results.
- Identify and address improvement opportunities, demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and the Open Door Policy, providing direction and guidance on business processes and practices.
- Promote a culture of belonging, respect diversity, and create a workplace where associates feel supported and connected.
- Attract and retain the best talent, empower and develop talent, and recognize contributions and accomplishments.
- Act with integrity, maintaining and promoting the highest standards of ethics, compliance, and accountability.
- Serve customers and members by delivering results, applying the EDLP and EDLC business models, and making decisions based on data and customer insights.
- Strive for excellence by adopting new technologies, encouraging learning, and driving continuous improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms‑specific criminal background check and firearms authorized training.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state‑specific requirements: completion of a current state‑issued certificate of eligibility.
- Must complete all required job trainings and assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership.
- Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing responsibilities.
