Role Overview

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is an entry‑level project management position that provides administrative and construction support to our Project Management team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
  • Oversee project activities assigned by the Project Manager, including planning, coordinating, and resolving problem areas while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain change orders, submittals, and document control logs.
  • Prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings.
  • Ensure contract submittals are accurate and timely and create and issue subcontractor contracts.
  • Assemble and deliver owner and maintenance manuals and maintain the warranty log.
  • Follow the project quality control plan and interact with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings.
  • Attend company and project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and others to provide project management support.
  • Cooperate with and provide technical assistance to field personnel assigned to the area of responsibility.
  • Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress.
  • Create job information sheets and establish job files.
  • Prepare price change orders, project reports, and documentation.
  • Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a construction‑related role (or a combination of training, education, and relevant work experience).
  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel);
    Oracle preferred.
  • Tactful professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others.
  • Strong organizational, record‑keeping, follow‑up, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organization and time‑management.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of employees, management, vendors, and clients.

Travel & Working Conditions
  • Up to 25% travel.
  • Primary work environment is on active construction sites, involving sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending, with occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
  • Work may be conducted mainly indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning; noise level is typically low to medium.
