AG Jeans has an Associate Technical Designer position available for a junior to mid-level candidate. The ideal candidate should have an aspiration to learn and contribute and possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will use tech packs to specify measurements, construction details, size, grading and proto reviews to ensure AG’s standards are met consistently across styles and areas of business.
You will work alongside seasoned Technical Design, Pattern, Production, and Design teams to support day-to-day tasks to ensure the accuracy of each style is being executed in a timely matter. Must be a self-starter, super organized, and exceptional at multi-tasking.
- Serve as a link between design and production, creating, updating and maintaining technical packages and fit and construction integrity for all programs
- Work with Technical/Pattern/Design teams to edit existing tech packs for factories including, but not limited to:
- Sewing and/or construction instructions
- Measurement verification and tolerances
- Generate fit evaluations and pattern corrections
- Thoroughly measure and review all samples in preparation of fitting
- Communicate day-to-day status updates with all teams as needed
- Collaborate on fitting times with cross-functional teams and models’ schedules
- Attend fittings and execute garment revisions accordingly with Pattern and Design teams
- 1-2 years of professional experience
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience creating, updating, and maintaining tech packs within the apparel industry
- PLM experience a big plus
- Pattern and sewing basic knowledge
- Strong measurement skills
- Be self-motivated team player dedicated to the task with a positive outlook
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize workload based on general team direction and workflow understanding
- Ability to multi-task, troubleshoot, problem solve, and think outside the box
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and a self-starter
- High sense of urgency, punctuality, and timeliness
