Assistant Project Manager; Heavy Civil & Transportation Infrastructure Projects – Southern Cali

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (). We are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team for heavy civil and transportation infrastructure projects in Southern California, USA (on-site position).

• Project: Highway, Bridge, Roadway, and Transportation Infrastructure Projects
• Estimated duration of the position: +24 months
• In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.

The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager in the day-to-day management of transportation and heavy civil infrastructure projects. The role involves coordinating construction activities, subcontractors, project documentation, budgets, schedules, and project controls while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

• Support project planning, execution, and coordination activities.
• Assist with project cost control, budgeting, and reporting.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Support schedule management and progress monitoring.
• Participate in client, subcontractor, and project coordination meetings.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Assist with contract administration and change management processes.
• Support field operations and office teams to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Monitor project performance and assist in risk identification and mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
• Working hours: Monday to Friday – 9 working hours (including a 1-hour lunch break)

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in heavy civil, transportation, highways, bridges, or roadway projects is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of project controls, scheduling, cost tracking, and construction processes.
• Experience reviewing RFIs, submittals, and technical documentation.
• Understanding of contract administration principles.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Working for an international company currently expanding.
• 22 paid vacation days+ 5 working days of sick leave (100% salary).
• Travel:
  Round-trip flights at the beginning and end of the project.
• Hotel:
  Two weeks of accommodation upon arrival if necessary.
