Systems Engineer II

Position Overview

The Systems Engineer works with senior engineers to ensure project compliance with all engineering standards, applicable codes, and specifications. They are responsible for design and integration of telecom, security, DAS, networking architecture, power distribution, grounding, and value engineering for state‑of‑the‑art constructible projects.

• Review, comment, and process equipment and system submittals.
• Generate project specifications appropriate for the project.
• Develop complete and accurate sequence of operations for all designed systems.
• Coordinate between architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, process, and all electrical trades.
• Prepare designs for multiple systems including single line diagrams, conduit and backbone cabling requirements.
• Field survey existing systems and challenges on remodel sites.
• Perform back‑check, value engineering, coordination of specifications or equipment buy‑out.
• Attend project design team meetings, owner and contractor meetings, and interface with client, architect, and mechanical contractor/engineer.
• Support Rosendin Operations Project Manager on design criteria and budget.
• Provide technical design guidance, resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.
• Oversee design team during construction to ensure proper and timely information for installation.

• High school diploma or equivalent. A RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) or relevant industry experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Systems Engineer (or equivalent blend of education, training, and experience).

Travel: up to 25% (excluding local field visits). Working conditions include long periods of sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending. Work primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. Noise level is low to medium.
