Mortgage Loan Originator

For our branch located in Southern California, we are looking for MLO's who live in California, Arizona and Nevada to work as a remote agent. As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will be responsible working with applicants for both refinance and purchase, preparing loan proposals, working through the needs and wants of our clients, managing a pipeline of loans moving through the process at various stages.

We have a multitude of products including conventional, governmental, non QM, second mortgage, commercial loans and many other products. Our processing and operations staff are seasoned and experienced to make the employee and customer experience a smooth and fluid process. Our team culture is focused on success for every member. • Assists potential borrowers with completion of initial loan applications; reviews submitted applications for accuracy and completion, requesting additional information or detail as needed.
• Verifies information and financial history provided; acquires borrowers' credit reports from major credit reporting bureau(s).
• Submits application to credit analysts or, when appropriate, examines application and creditworthiness of potential borrower; determines or makes recommendations regarding approval or denial/modification of requested loan.
• Approves or, when outside pre-approved lending limits, refers loans to management for analysis and approval.
• Ensures loan agreements are completed according to policy; calculates and explains payment schedules.
• Explains different lending and credit options and bank products to potential and current clients.
• Maintains credit and lending records and files.
• Maintains a robust referral network in the local banking community with builders, real estate agents, and other related businesses.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification of any mandatory state loan officer training or licensing required.
• 2+ Years as a Loan officer
• Solid understanding of local, state, and federal loan regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills.
• Thorough understanding of Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Veterans Affairs (VA), Federal National Mortgage (Fannie Mae), and other types of construction and conventional loans.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or equivalent.
• 3+ Years as a Loan Officer
• Knowledge of LOS Encompass system.
