Research Associate
The Binder Cognition Lab seeks a Research Associate to work on an NIH R15–funded project examining literacy profiles of adults with low literacy skills. The position involves close collaboration with the Principal Investigator and plays a key role in project administration, community coordination, and supervision of undergraduate research assistants. This role is ideal for recent graduates planning to pursue graduate study in cognitive or developmental psychology or related fields.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Maintain accurate and confidential participant records, consent forms, and databases
- Administer screening measures to adult participants
- Coordinate data collection and scheduling at community partner sites
- Communicate professionally with community partners
- Assist with grant budgets, reports, and applications
- Train, supervise, and mentor undergraduate research assistants
- Ensure adherence to research protocols and ethical standards
- Support data analysis and research dissemination (posters and manuscripts)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to supervise and provide feedback to undergraduate students
- Interest in graduate study in cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, or a related field
- Interest in grant writing, assessment, data analysis, and research dissemination
The Research Associate will play a central role in mentoring undergraduates and supporting community-engaged research within the Binder Cognition Lab.
Note:
This position is funded by a three-year grant that concludes on May 31, 2029. Continuation of funding is likely, which may allow for an extension of the position.
